Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced that it will conduct its first MIUI Partnership Day in India on 7 November. The event is scheduled to be held in Gurugram at the Leela Ambience Hotel. People who are interested and wish to attend the event can register themselves on the forum provided on the website.
Xiaomi has claimed that the event "marks a significant step up in its commitment to the local market". The event will help developers in learning more about the MIUI user experience and begin exploring collaborations in various aspects. The MIUI Partnership Day will cover topics about strategies pertaining to Xiaomi’s internet services strategy which will include products and services, knowledge about the entire MIUI ecosystem, monetisation opportunities and investments.
Xiaomi claims that MIUI has now over 280 million users across 142 countries and regions globally. Xiaomi has sold over 25 million smartphones in the Indian market in last three years. According to the IDC Q2 2017 report, Redmi Note 4 has become the highest shipped smartphone in the country.
This announcement comes weeks after the company launched the much anticipated Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 at a launch event in New Delhi. Xiaomi has priced the Mi Mix 2 at Rs 35,999 for the 128 GB internal storage along with 6 GB RAM. The device will be available in the first week of November both on online and offline channels.
