In a video posted on Xiaomi’s Facebook page, Hugo Barra explains that Indian fans have been clamoring for a dedicated space for themselves and as usual, Xiaomi has delivered. The community is simply called Mi Community India and is “a new home for Indian fans.”
Barra says that fans can learn about new product launches, give feedback, etc. at the community forum and that they have a chance to win prizes based on their activity and level of interaction. These prizes include VIP invites, holiday gifts, a chance to visit the Xiaomi headquarters and more. Barra also promises to visit the forum on a regular basis and interact with fans.

Xiaomi had this to say on their global forum, “We know that some of you have also been hanging out on the Global MIUI Forum and that’s great! We’ve gotten so many requests for a dedicated space JUST for our Indian Mi Fans. That's why we created Mi Community; it's our very first home for Mi Fans in India to talk about anything under the sun.”
In a surprise twist, Barra also announced that Mi Pop events are coming to India. In XIaomi’s own words, Mi Pop is Xiaomi’s official mega event to bring Mi Fans together for a day of fun and games.” The event has been held since 2012 in various Chinese cities and apparently includes lucky draws, fan performances and much more.
Mi Fans certainly look like they’re in for a good time.
