After a stepping into a number of industry areas and category's including kettles, air purifiers, and Windows laptops, Xiaomi now seems interested 3D printers. Yes, if the new images coming from China turn out to be genuine, then Xiaomi could soon be announcing its own 3D printer soon.

First reported by GizmoChina, there are 3 images in a all. One shows the 3D printer in a press render while the other two are actual photographs of the machine.

While it looks impressive in the press render (above), the actual images (below) show that the entire machine is made of plastic cladding with metal shafts to support the innards and mechanical bits in place.

The frosted glass or translucent finish looks impressive from the front, but it does look like a blender from the sides in the live images. The are perforations in the plastic cover at the top and an opening at the bottom where users will be able to reach out and pick up the finished product.

With that said, this is more of budget printer and should be aimed at beginners. Xiaomi will try and keep the cost down considering that they do provide most of their products with competitive pricing. Xiaomi recently launched its Mi Air Purifier in India, taking a big, bold step into the highly competitive consumer appliances market.
