XFX has announced new products based on Nvidia’s GeForce G80 chipset. The new XFX XXX 8800-series are unique products, as they become the first cards to ship overclocked since the introduction of the new GPU range. This is the reason why XFX has named the new cards with the ‘XXX’ tag as to indicate its overclocked status.

The XFX GeForce 8800 GTX which is the new flagship model, sports a core speed and memory clock of 630 MHz and 2.0 GHz respectively which is a modest step up from Nvidia’s specified 575 MHz and 1.8 GHz memory clocks. The mainstream XFX XXX GeForce 8800 GTS has had its speed increased, to 550 MHz core speed and 1.8 GHz memory clock from the default speed of 500 MHz and 1.6 GHz speeds.

These new cards will be retailing soon. The pricing for the XXX GeForce 8800 GTX is expected to be $649 while the GTS will retail at $499.
