Windows Desktop Search 3.0 Updated

One of the most annoying things that had been released along with Office 2007 Beta 2 was the very basic version of the Windows Desktop Search 3.0 made available as a separate download. It did not have the full blown desktop features we’ ve gotten used to. Its UI was at best irritating and it could be only used for searching Outlook 2007. Well it looks like Microsoft finally woke up to this fact and realized how annoying the preview software was. They’ve finally gotten around to releasing an upgrade to the desktop search program. The new version now not only has a decent UI, but comes with the Windows Deskbar too. Not only that it can now successfully index all kinds of file types without issues and that too without the need for Office 2007 being installed.
