The much talked about Windows 10 platform, which was announced last month, is now available for preview but only for select Windows Phone devices. Users with handsets which are already running Windows 8.1 will need to install the preview app  from the Windows Phone Store. But the list of devices  that can support the new technical preview are very few. For now, it only includes the Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730 and Lumia 830. According to the blog post by Windows, a few features that were previously available on Windows 8.1 are missing from the preview build. Microsoft also stated that the preview is still very much under development and users are going to face some difficulties. The technical preview will include features such as a full-size background image, and more Quick Actions in the Action Center along with interactive notifications. It also has a more powerful Photos app and the company has significantly enhanced its speech-to-text capability as well.

Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore, Corporate Vice President for Operating Systems said that the future builds will include some great features for the new universal apps for Word, Excel and PowerPoint, which work across phones, tablets, and PCs running Windows 10. The company will also, in future builds, add the new Mail and Calendar universal apps from the Outlook team in Office as well as IP-based messaging from Skype and others, which will be integrated directly into the messaging experience. An earlier report  suggested that Windows 10 powered flagship smartphones were going to release in May.  The company will take the stage at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to announce two new Lumia smartphones aimed at entry-level and mid-range smartphones.
