Ever since Windows 10 was announced in July this year, there have been updates to it. Although the operating system will continue to remain Windows 10, updates will continue to happen. This November, a major update is expected to roll out, and according to a report by Thurrott, the release will be called 1511 indicating the year and month of release (November 2015). The report further adds that the update is incremental in nature. Irrespective of whether you upgraded from Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10, you will get the Windows 10 Fall update. Similarly, even if you upgraded from the RTM version of Windows 10, you would still get the Windows 10 Fall update. If you have an activated installation of Windows 10, you can go ahead and install the upgrade without the need for any activation, since the upgrade is different from the installs available with Windows Insider. With the upgrade, the Push Button Reset will be updated. As a result, a future reset of the OS will take it to the Windows 1o fall update rather than the July RTM release. In August, Microsoft had begun the rollout of what it called a cumulative update. In case you haven’t installed the earlier updates, this update gets you up and running with the latest version of Windows. On the other hand, if you have updated the prior updates, then only incremental patches are installed. In its official update, Microsoft said, “This update includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10. Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously released fixes. If you have previous updates installed, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer.”
