Will We See The Samsung Galaxy 3D by September?

The Samsung Galaxy S II did resoundingly well in most parts of the world. Samsung, along with some users go so far as to call it the ‘Greatest Phone Ever’. So what does the manufacturer do to build on this successful smartphone? The answer is simple – 3D. The phenomenon of 3D is rocking the world these days with televisions, monitors, laptops and portable gaming consoles all sporting this technology. So why not implement this technology in the next generation of smartphones?

If rumours are to be believed, according to a Korean website  ETNews, Samsung are apparently working on an Android based device which will have 3D capabilities. This phone is supposedly being manufactured to compete directly against other 3D smartphones like the LG Optimus 3D and the HTC EVO 3D. The report states that Samsung has codenamed it ‘Samsung Galaxy 3D’ and is expected to run on an Android 2.3 operating software. Other specifications that this smartphone may include are a 1.2GHz dual core Exynos processor, a 4.3-inch 3D LCD screen and dual 8MP cameras. An HD TV-out as well as a feature to output captured 3D content directly to a 3D compatible TV is also expected on the Samsung Galaxy 3D.

If the sources of the website are accurate, these are pretty impressive specifications and will surely be a phone of the future. If the phone does release by the fourth quarter of this year, it will also pose as stiff competition to the next iPhone, which is due to release around the same time. For now, we have to just wait, watch and hope these rumours are true.
