Wickedleak is out with an all new smartphone that breaks the price barrier for octa-core phones in the market. The Wammy Neo Youth phablet has been priced at Rs 8,490 and is now listed on the company’s site. It will be available for pre-order from tomorrow onwards. The Neo Youth is a cheaper variant of the **Wammy Neo** launched in May. It sports a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display with 720 x 1280 resolution. With Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, you are not getting the latest version of Android, however, Wickedleak promises a Kitkat upgrade without mentioning when it will arrive. Just like many of the octa-core phones in the market, the Neo Youth is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC with a Mali 450 GPU, and coupled with 1GB of RAM. It gets 8GB of onboard storage that can be expanded further up to 32GB via microSD card. On the camera front, it gets a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Direct and Hotspot, GPS with A-GPS, micro-USB, FM Radio and Bluetooth 2.1. Users can opt for Wickedleak’s AquaProtect technology priced at Rs 1,500. AquaProtect is a specialised process that applies a liquid repellent substance inside and out of the Neo Youth. With this on, the Neo Youth can survive for more than 30mins in water, claims the company.
