After the Alcatel Idol X+, Wickedleak has launched its new 5-inch smartphone dubbed Wammy Neo. Priced at 11,990, it is the latest to join the octa-core budget brigade. It will be available in black and white colour options on the official Wickedleaks’ site starting June 15. The Wammy Neo sports a 5-inch Full HD IPS display. Under the hood, it comes powered by a MediaTek true octa-core processor (MTK6592) clocked at 1.7GHz and coupled with 2GB RAM. It comes with dual SIM capability, and runs Android 4.2. On the camera front, one can expect a 13-megapixel snapper and 5-megapixel front-facing camera, along with features like Motion Capture and Voice Capture. Wammy Neo’s 8GB internal memory is expandable up to 64GB. The connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Users can opt for Wickedleak’s AquaProtect technology priced at Rs 1,500. AquaProtect is a specialised process that applies a liquid repellent substance inside and out of the Wammy Neo. With this new technology, Wammy Neo can sustain for more than 30mins in water, claims the company. In terms of specs and pricing, the Wammy Neo will be competing with the iBerry Auxus Nuclea X in the Indian market. The Nuclea X also comes with a 5-inch full HD display, 1.7GHz octa-core processor and 13MP rear camera, but gets a better front camera and battery.
