WhatsApp: Sharing all file formats, two-factor authentication coming soon

WhatsApp is not taking a break in adding newer features to the platform. Right after adding a new ‘FixedSys’ font for iOS and Android users, the company will add the ability to share all kinds of files, public invitations links and QR codes for WhatsApp groups. WhatsApp will also add the newly introduced 70 emojis submitted by Unicode Consortium last month.Apart from that, keeping the importance of cyber security, WhatsApp will introduce two-factor authentication to the popular messaging platform. This will work through e-mail and you can also change the recovery email using WhatsApp web. The option to change chat backgrounds with solid colours is now available for WhatsApp Web users. The mention feature is also pegged to arrive soon on the app. However, despite the feature working as intended, WhatsApp needs to improve the notification system to accommodate notifications for mentions along with the usual WhatsApp text and call notifications. WABetaInfo dug through the code from WhatsApp Beta versions and reported about the possibility of these features along with some hidden features.

Other hidden functions in the WhatsApp app codebase include options to connect to Google, Google Plus and Facebook and Video calling. Integrated browser to browse the link within Whatsapp, Call recorder to record audio calls and a new profile section with NFC integration to exchange contact details on WhatsApp are present in the code. But the chances of these features to make to the list of features available for the public are considerably lower.
