Finally, WhatsApp has released its latest build version 2.12.38 with Material Design for Android smartphones. Looks like, WhatsApp is still working on the new changes and the new build is not yet available on the Google Play store. However, it is now available to download via the company’s website. The minimum requirements to get started with the new update are an Android smartphone running version 2.1 or above, and obviously an Internet connection The apk won’t run on your tablet, yet. Though the general layout is same, it now has a refreshing colour scheme - a deep green title bar that blends seamlessly into the three tabs for calls, chats and contacts. The chat window comes with new buttons to record voice messages, and also made available in attachment option pop-up. During group chats, one will find a cleaner layout and a larger cover image. One will also find some cosmetic changes made to the media selection screen. TheNextWeb points out that the app maker is still working at rolling out the visual updates as a few design changes and animations differ from user to user. Though we would recommend you to wait for the official announcement, those eager to get their hands on the new update can head to the WhatsApp website. We expect WhatsApp to roll out the app to users soon.
