Named SanDisk Dual Drive, these flash drives pack in the ability to use the same storage drive as a regular USB 2.0-based drive as well as a direct micro USB based solution that can be plugged straight into an Android smartphone.

The SanDisk Dual Drive come in various capacities starting from the base 16 GB variant which is priced at Rs 700 to the Rs 3,500 worth 128 GB variant. SanDisk claims that the Dual Drive works on most OTG compatible Android smartphones though one could refer to the compatibility chart here to be sure.

Once plugged into the smartphones, the drive automatically detects the flash drive data and can then be managed using the SanDisk Memory Zone app to move around data back and forth.

"Paired with the SanDisk Memory Zone app, we have an excellent solution to help users free up space and manage their photos, videos and files across their favourite devices," said managing director at Western Digital India, Khalid Wani.

A breakdown of data transfer speeds have not been revealed by the company here but SanDisk does claim up to 150 Mbps of read speed on the Dual Drives.

The SanDisk Dual Drive flash drives are on sale through both Flipkart and Amazon.
