Vodafone launches SuperNet 4G in Gujarat over 1800 MHz band

Vodafone’s SuperNet 4G is Vodafone’s high speed service on the superior 1800 Mhz band, especially meant for streaming multimedia, video calling and online gaming. The SuperNet service deployed in Gujrat has a strong fibre based backhaul network, to funnel the wireless traffic to India’s internet backbone. The service is available only on 4G enabled handsets. Vodafone has so far rolled out the SuperNet service in Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and some parts of Uttar Pradesh. “As a steadfast partner to Digital India, we are delighted to launch Vodafone SuperNet 4G in Gujarat during this second phase of our 4G rollout. 4G has the potential to revolutionize the mobile experience through powerful innovation that impacts how we work and live,” said Sunil Sood, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone India. “Vodafone’s global expertise and experience of launching 4G across 20 countries gives us a better understanding of this technology and the needs of the 4G customer. Following overwhelming response received in Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Haryana and UP EAST, our customers in Gujarat can now enjoy the world’s largest 4G network experience from today.” “Gujarat is a strong leadership market for Vodafone India and as the leading telecom service provider, our over 19.5 million customers have a lot to look forward to,” said Jayesh Gadia Business Head–Gujarat, Vodafone India. “Beginning with key business and residential corridors of Surat, we will soon expand our Vodafone SuperNet  4G services across the entire state in a phased manner. We invite our data savvy customers in Gujarat to make the most of the bonanza of special benefits being offered and enjoy the best mobile internet experience.” Existing 3G customers will get a free upgrade to a 4G sim card. The 4G network connectivity will be available at the same price as 3G plans. The first three months of Vodafone Play. with music, movies and TV shows are free for three months.
