Vivo V5 Plus and V5 Lite go official ahead of 23 January launch

At the launch of the Vivo V5, Vivo India did hint that V5 Plus was coming. Now that launch date of Vivo V5 Plus has been locked down for 23 January, it is a bit surprising that the specifications of the same have already gone official on the official Vivo website. The highlight of the smartphone is indeed the new all-metal body and the dual selfie camera module that should help deliver even better selfies compared to the V5 . ![Vivo V5 Plus front](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Vivo-V5-Plus-front.jpg) The design appears to be slimmer and is made of metal unlike the V5 which was made of plastic. This obviously hints at a higher price tag as well. The antenna lines curve around the edges of the device similar to the Apple iPhone 7 and the 2.5D Glass on the front completes the premium look. ![Vivo V5 Plus back](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Vivo-V5-Plus-back.jpg) There’s a 5.5-inch Full HD display on the front, and a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 that sits behind it, making it the second device to go official with the new chipset after the **Lenovo P2** . Apart from the new chipset you get 4GB RAM, a 16MP rear camera, and dual camera set up on the front. As a first, the Vivo V5 features a dual camera selfie setup on the front of the device. There’s a 20MP sensor with Sony’s IMX376 1/2.78-inch sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens system and an 8MP one that is simply there to capture depth of field information. What this means is that obtaining the ‘Bokeh’ effect is going to be relatively simple on the Vivo V5 Plus. Other features include 64GB of internal storage (expandable upto 128GB) a 3,160mAh battery with support for Fast Charging, along 4G/LTE radios, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.  The fingerprint reader is located on the front face of the device inside the home button. ![Vivo V5 Lite front](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Vivo-V5-Lite-front.jpg) Another smartphone that went official was the Vivo V5 Lite. The device is supposed to be an affordable version of the currently available Vivo V5. It packs in a display similar to the current model with HD resolution and features a 64-bit octa-core processor inside with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage (expandable to 128GB).  The highlight of this smartphone is a selfie spotlight feature that lets you control the lighting in a selfie. ![Vivo V5 Lite back](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Vivo-V5-Lite-back.jpg) In terms of the cameras you get a 13MP rear camera and 16MP front-facing camera. The device packs in a 3,000mAH battery along with the usual 4G/LTE radios, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. The smartphone also packs in an FM Radio along with USB OTG support. The Vivo V5 Plus has been listed on the website only in the gold option while the Vivo V5 Lite is listed in gold and rose gold.
