Vivo V5 launched in India at Rs 17,980; packs in a 20MP selfie camera

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has just launched its all new V5 and V5 Plus smartphones in India today.

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has just launched its all new V5 smartphone in India today. As seen is previous leaks , the highlight of the smartphone includes a 20MP selfie camera which Vivo tags as a Moonlight Glow camera. The handset will go on sale on 26 November and can be pre-booked from 16 to 25 of November. ![Vivo V5 Launch Event](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/photo958127004269520944.jpg) Coming to the specifications of this device, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch display of HD (1280x720) resolution with a 2.5D curved screen that’s made of Gorilla Glass 3. It will be powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM along with 32GB internal storage which is expandable upto 128GB via microSD card. It also features a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. ![Vivo V5](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/photo958127004269520953.jpg) As mentioned before, the camera is the highlight of the smartphone. It packs in a 13MP sensor on the back while a 20MP sensor on the front takes charge of capturing selfies. The camera on the back will feature a soft-LED flash and a PDAF (phase detection autofocus). The smartphone will feature 4G LTE bands support, dual-SIM card slot, and will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 2.6 skin on top. The smartphone will be arriving in Space Grey and Crown Gold colours. The company also announced the V5 Plus which is the world’s first smartphone with a dual-lens camera setup for the front camera which will be launched later.
