Chinese smartphone maker Vivo will launch its latest smartphone, the Vivo V5s in India today. Similar to previous Vivo flagships, the latest flagship will focus on selfies as the company is promoting the smartphone using the hashtag ’#PerfectSelfie’ on social media.
The company has not issued any official statement on the price of the smartphone at the time of writing. However, since the company launched the smartphone in Thailand for 9,990 Baht, which amounts to Rs 18,500 after conversion, we can assume that the price is in the same range. We can expect the price of Vivo V5s to be around the same price point in India.
Vivo V5s is expected to be similar to its predecessor. the V5 Plus, and will sport similar hardware. The V5s will sport a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution (1920x1080) and Gorilla Glass 5 to protect the screen, as reported by The Mobile Indian . The smartphone will sport an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, which is supported by a Mali T860 GPU, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

Vivo has added an expandable storage slot to add up to 256 GB storage space to the smartphone. In the camera department, it offers a 13 MP sensor with phase detection and LED flash on the back, while a 20 MP camera module on the front along with ‘Moonlight’ flash takes charge of capturing selfies.
The smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button and a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging to power the smartphone. Vivo has added 4G LTE-enabled dual nano-SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, OTG support, microUSB 2.0 port as connectivity options. The smartphone comes be the usual accelerometer, light sensor, compass and a ‘smart split 2.0’ hi-fi audio system that is powered by an AK4376 audio chip.
The Vivo V5s runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 2.6 skin on top.
