Vine has introduced a new feature called
Loop counts
, which will tell you how many times the video has been played back on Vine as well as embeds across the web. This is Vine’s way of giving you an idea of how popular and interesting a video may be. The feature is currently available only for Android and iOS users. No details were mentioned for the Windows Phone app. [caption id=“attachment_226744” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”]
Vine has introduced a loop counter and a redesigned home feed page[/caption] The Loop count number will update in real-time across the mobile apps and on vine.co. So that you can find out how many people are viewing it concurrently. Also the loop is counted as one complete 6-sec video, so even if you have clicked on it once and it plays back 10 times, that will be counted as 10 loops. Click on the loops to go to the web interface of the Vine below. Check the right hand corner where you can see the loop count being updated in real time. Vine has been tracking the loop count since April 3 this year and loop counts for videos before this do not exist, but you will see a ‘+’ sign on these videos indicating they have been shot before April 3. Apart from this, Vine has redesigned the home feed giving you a bigger, edge-to-edge videos and a cleaner view of likes and comments. Vine will also give you notifications when your videos pass key milestones such as 25 or 100 likes.
