Vine now allows high quality 720p videos on iOS, coming soon to Android

Soon after announcing the **Periscope app** , Twitter has bumped the resolution of videos for its video-sharing app Vine from 480p to 720p. The company said it has been working on technical upgrades that support Vines in higher quality. In a blogpost, Vine writes, “When you watch Vines on our iOS and Android apps, you’ll see these quality improvements — they are rolling out over the coming days. You’ll also see higher quality Vines embedded in sites across the web.” The Vine app for iOS lets users create and upload videos in the new high quality format, but the higher video quality support will be rolled out to Android users over the ‘coming days’. Users will also be able to see higher quality Vines embedded in sites across the web. “This is a significant bump up from its usual 480p, and the difference is immediate when watching a video in the mobile app or on the Web,” points out VentureBeat. As we know, Twitter has been trying to spruce up its video experience. Apart from Periscope, the company had also acquired SnappyTV that allows media companies to edit and share snippets of broadcasts immediately. Twitter had acquired Vine way back in 2013. Recently, video app Vine had launched a new kiddies version termed **‘Vine Kids’ app** that allows children to watch family-friendly content. The app specially targets children under the age of five. Vine app for Android and iOS can be downloaded from the Apple App store and Play store, respectively.
