'Vine Kids' app allows children to watch family-friendly content

Video app Vine has launched a new kiddies version termed ‘Vine Kids’ app that allows children to watch family-friendly content. The app is now available on the official App store and specially targets children under the age of five. Head of Communications and Marketing Carolyn Penner posted on their blog that through adorable animated characters, kids can watch videos that are appropriate for a young audience. The idea for Vine Kids’ came to Penner when he was having a conversation with one of his colleagues about how much his two-year-old daughter loves the app Vine. He added that he wished there was a separate app which his daughter could use to more easily watch posts that are appropriate for kids. Swiping right or left will show a new Vine as well. The app requires iOS 7 or later version and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Earlier **reports** suggest that Vine’s Loop count feature allows users to track your video’s popularity. This is Vine’s way of giving you an idea of how popular and interesting a video may be. The Loop count number updates in real-time across the mobile apps and on vine.co. so that users can find out how many people are viewing it concurrently. Also the loop is counted as one complete 6-sec video, so even if a user has clicked on it once and it plays back 10 times, that will be counted as 10 loops.
