Say hello to a big new update for Vine's iOS app that lets you "revine” your favourite Vine videos. The feature works pretty much like Retweets do on parent company Twitter’s service, and you can revine videos right from your home feed or the Explore page. The videos will show up on both your profile and your friends' feeds.
Also new is a “ghost” tool feature we were teased with last week. The tool lets you line up new shots by overlaying an image from the previous take. There are also new buttons to show a grid, and let you focus on particular objects.
Nice, juicy, feature-packed update for the Vine iOS app
Vine is also introducing 15 new channels to the Explore page, such as Nature, Comedy and Music. The new channels will each have their own themes and Popular Feed sections. Another addition is a new section called “On the rise”, which helps you discover new people whose posts are trending.
Most importantly, the Vine update brings better privacy controls. You will now be able to protect your posts and allow only people you approve to view them. But if you choose to share the protected video on Facebook or Twitter, it will be viewable by anyone who has access to the link on the web.
If you are saying, “Wait, didn’t Vine already have protected accounts,” you’re probably thinking of Instagram. The Facebook-owned service got 15-second-long video shooting capabilities last month and has slowly been eating into Vine's share on Twitter. This was probably the wake-up call Twitter needed to step on the gas as far as introducing new features for Vine was concerned.
So while Instagram and Vine fight it out to grab your attention, you can download this feature-rich new update by Vine for your iOS devices from the App Store.
