In an interesting update, Yahoo! writes in its Search blog that users can find Flickr photos when using Yahoo! Image Search. This way, users will be able to find Flickr images that are available for re-use or re-posting under Creative Common terms. To begin with, users will have to go to Yahoo! Image search, either on their desktop, or mobile or tablet, and search for any term. If a user is looking for a specific photo he can reuse, he should select the “Labeled for Reuse” filter visible on the left; this way he will only see those images that can be reused.

For more details on any particular image, including the name of the photographer, users can hover over the thumbnail. By clicking on any of the thumbnails, users will be able to view the full image. If a user wants to see the specific Creative Commons’ license terms for any image, he will have to click the “Attribution” link. To see more images by a particular photographer, all users have to do is click the “i” and they will then be able to view the remaining of their photostream on Flickr.

In mid-2012, Yahoo! integrated a photo app into Yahoo! Mail, using which users can view all the photos that they ever sent or received during the entire life of their e-mail account, as e-mail attachments all at one place, thereby allowing them to manage their photos in an organised manner. Thumbnails of all the images can be viewed and filtered by date, sender, folder and size.

The new photo app allows users to easily view and search for any photo and they can also access the app from either their desktop or mobile device. The photos app (Photos), which can be located under the Application section on the left tab, needn’t be downloaded. Once inside the app, users can choose to view all their photos, irrespective of the number in a slideshow format. The app shows the most recent photos first by default, but if you’re in there looking for some older photos, then you can do so by selecting “Sort by: Oldest.”
Interestingly, the app also allows users to share the photos with friends and family either via e-mail or by uploading them to Flickr – Yahoo!’s image and video hosting website. Users can share their photos with their family and friends via e-mail by first selecting the photo(s). To do so, users can click anywhere on the photo and once they do so, a green checkmark will appear along with a description of the image. On clicking the Sharing button, users are given the option between Share as Attachments or Share as Links via Flickr. On clicking Share as Attachments, a new e-mail will open with the selected photos attached. The mail can now be composed and sent.
