Videocon launches two budget Android-based smartphones in India

Videocon has launched two new Android KitKat OS based smartphones Infinium Z40Q Star at Rs 4,499 and the Infinium Z50Q Star at Rs 5,999 respectively.

Videocon launches two budget Android-based smartphones in India

Videocon has launched two new Android KitKat OS based smartphones Infinium  Z40Q Star at Rs 4,499 and the Infinium Z50Q Star at Rs 5,999 respectively. There is no information provided as to when these devices will be available. The Videocon Infinium Z40Q Star features a 4-inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. The device is powered with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. No information on the chipset has been specified. The dual-SIM based handset comes along with 512MB of RAM. In terms of memory, the device has 4GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded to 32GB via microSD card. The device runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box and is equipped with a 5MP auto-focus rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. It is backed by a 1,500mAh battery. “In line up to the ongoing Digital Revolution in the country, Videocon is determined to introduce consumer-focused devices which are high on style and cost-effectiveness. With our superb smartphone range, we ensure that the varied needs of new-age smartphone users are being fulfilled indigenously,” said Jerold Pereira, CEO, Videocon Mobile Phones, on the launch of the new phones. On the other hand, the Videocon Infinium Z50Q Star comes with a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution. It is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the devices features 4GB built-in storage and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The Android 4.4 KitKat-based Videocon Infinium Z50Q Star sports a 5MP rear camera and has a 0.3MP front-facing camera. The device is backed by a 2,000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, it supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, 3G, and micro-USB connectivity options. The device will be available in White, Red and Blue variants.
