Well now, you can tell them that you are an art connoisseur and there is no way you can laugh at Art. Jokes apart, in what looks like a big step forward for Video Games and Video Game Developers as a whole, the US Government’s National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has officially announced that all forms of media created for the Internet and mobile technologies are now officially sanctioned art forms.
It will also make grants available  to the development, production, and national distribution of innovative media projects about the arts (e.g. visual arts, music, dance, literature, design, theater, musical theater, opera, folk & traditional arts, and media arts including film, audio, animation, and digital art) and media projects that can be considered works of art.

In other news, the Smithsonian Art Museum recently conducted a poll to see which video games will be included in the museum exhibit - “The Art Of Video Games”. A total of 80 games were selected out of which a few will also be playable for the visitors of the Smithsonian.
