Twitter has been busy making all sorts of announcements ever since it decided to make public the fact that it has confidentially filed for an IPO. This little nugget, however, affects only the most elite of Twitter users – the owners of verified profiles. Twitter’s about to make going through your Connect tab a lot easier if you have a little blue box with a tick-mark on your profile.
There are a neat couple of filters in place for verified accounts that will make going through mentions a lot easier. The Connect tab has now been fitted with three filters to make scrolling through mentions easy. There’s “All”, “Filtered”, and “Verified” tabs now available in Connect.

New filters for the elite
For most verified users – that includes actors, politicians, musicians – and the likes, going through each and every reply and tweet they receive is not the easiest of tasks. With these three new filters, they can choose to go through their mentions, all at once, see a spam-filtered version of the All tab, or simply choose to interact with other people who hold a verified account.
The feature is rolling out already and should be visible on all verified profiles soon. However, the mobile version of Twitter will still not have these filter options in them. Twitter says that it’s working to get this feature to iOS and Android apps as well, but this might take a while.
While this change may affect a very miniscule part of Twitter users, it comes at an important time in Twitter’s journey. The company has just filed to go public soon. The company filed confidentially for an IPO and announced the fact today. It is also toying with the idea of rolling out a new interface for the Android version of its application. The new UI is being tested with beta participants currently.
Intrigued by all things social, Nishtha will invariably tweet about you. When not tweeting or writing about the next viral video, you will hear her proclaiming her love to Metallica, James Hetfield, Opeth, Akerfeldt and all bands that go 'growl'. She also obsesses about ACP Pradyuman and South Park and you will always find her moving around with a book. Her focus is on all the happening stuff in the tech domain, and she won't hesitate to take a shot at some of the oddball devices that make their way to our labs.
