Sources close to development at Apple have reportedly informed AllThingsD that the next iPhone is expected to make an appearance on September 10. For those who don’t know, Huffington Post had cited a report on the German blog iFun last month that said the upcoming iPhone would be “coming to market” on September 6.
September 10 is it?
Despite there being a new date in hand now, we are not altogether unfamiliar with the September timeline. A couple of months ago, it had been rumoured that the iPhone 5S would hit stores in September, ahead of the iPad 5 launch.
iFun added that at launch Apple will also be making “two new types of devices” available, and by this it did not mean devices in two different colours or in varying memory sizes.
Over the months, several rumours have surfaced hinting at several new aspects of the upcoming iPhone, one of them being that the iPhone 5S could come in different colours. Japanese website Macotakara had in May claimed to have pictures of the iPhone 5S with different-coloured back panels. The back panels seemed to have a very glossy style, which would be uncharacteristic of Apple considering the matte finish that the iPhone 5 had. The website had also said that the phone will have a dual-LED flash.
Rumours and speculations, tons of them, have always preceded major Apple announcements, and the upcoming iPhone is turning out to be no exception. Although, headlines over the past few weeks have been abuzz about Apple’s upcoming launches, we’d suggest you take these rumours with a pinch of salt too, just to avoid any disappointment.
