Killzone 2
Platform: PS3
Release Date: April 2008
Well, what do you know; Sony’s 300 LB beast that’s been hiding in the shadows for over two years will finally see the light of day this April. While the game doesn’t look as good as the E3 2005 footage claimed it would, it still looks better than tons of games out there and from the most recent video shown at E3 2007, it looks to be about as intense as a Call of Duty game.
Borderlands
Platform: Xbox360, PS3, PC
Release Date: TBA 2008
Take a bit of Mad Max, add in a dash of Diablo’s RPG style of gameplay, sprinkle over 500,000 weapons and seal the deal with an awesome co-op mode… and you’ll begin to understand what Brothers in Arms’ developer Gearbox Software is working on. And yes, the game will be made using the Unreal 3 engine.
Duke Nukem Forever
Platform: PC
Release Date: 2008?
According to the teaser trailer released by 3D Realms in December 2007, the Duke is still alive and he’s looking pretty decent after being stuck in development hell for over ten years. As of now we have absolutely no info on this game but we’re hoping (and praying) 3D Realms finally deliver the game they’ve been promising us forever (pun intended) this year.

Ghostbusters
**
Platform: Xbox360, PC, PS3, PS2, Wii
Release Date: October 2008**
You know who you’re gonna call when there’s something strange in the neighborhood, right? No, we don’t call the cops or the fire fighters; we call the Ghostbusters, a bunch of geeky little dudes who fight ghosts and other supernatural ‘problems’ in their spare time. Just like in the movies, New York is facing a paranormal crisis of sorts. As a brand new recruit on the team, it’ll be up to you to eradicate this menace once and for all.
Rogue Warrior
**
Platform: Xbox360, PS3, PC
Release Date: April 2008**
After mesmerizing players with the vast and beautiful expanses of Oblivion, developer/publisher Bethesda has turned its sights towards North Korea for a brand new tactical shooter called Rogue Warrior. From what we’ve seen, the game will probably play put like GRAW, only it’ll give players a lot more freedom and even allow them to switch from a third to a first person view depending on the situation at hand. And yes, it will offer both offline and online co-op (ah, but you kinda expected that, didn’t ya?)
Fable 2
Platform: Xbox360
Release Date: TBA 2008
If Mass Effect couldn’t satisfy those RPG urges, you may take solace in the fact that Peter Molyneux’s much-hyped epic RPG, Fable 2, will be heading your way this year. The game will take place nearly 500 years after the events of Fable in a new improved (not to mention enlarged) land of Albion. Expect an all-new revamped combat system, guns, and a loyal companion in the form of man’s best friend, the humble dog.

FlatOut: Head on
Platform: PSP
Release Date: TBA 2008
There was a time when Burnout was hailed as the most destructive racer on the planet, but then in 2004 a relatively unknown developer called Bugbear came out of nowhere to deliver FlatOut, a game that boasted of even better vehicular destruction in addition to some of the wackiest (not to mention sadistic) mini-games seen in a video game ever. After the original game sold pretty well, they came out with a sequel for the PC that was later ported to the Xbox360. Now we have that very same game being ported to the PSP. If you still have no clue as to what the game’s all about, kindly educate yourselves with our reviews of
FlatOut 2 as well as
FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage.
Halo Wars
**
Platform: Xbox360
Release Date: TBA 2008**
Ensemble Studios, maker of Age of Empires, has decided to give gamers a taste of the Halo universe from an RTS (real time strategy) point of view rather than the first person perspective we’re so used to. Unfortunately the game will remain an Xbox360 exclusive, since executive producer Harter Ryan had categorically stated that they are not interested in a PC port.

Haze
**
Platform: PS3
Release Date: January-March 2008**
Once a multi-platform game, developer Free Radical’s FPS has moved on to become a PS3 exclusive. Unlike their previous game, its light hearted Time Splitters, Haze is an ultra serious game that deals with the effect of a drug called Nectar on soldiers.
Brutal Legend
Platform: PS3, Xbox360
Release Date: TBA 2008
From the creative minds that brought you the highly acclaimed Psychonauts, comes yet another intriguing action adventure called Brutal Legend. The game will place players in the boots of a roadie called Eddie Riggs (played by none other than Jack Black) as he embarks on a tripped-out journey through an alternate heavy metal-laced fantasy full of guitars, hotrods, headbangers, sexy ladies, chrome volcanoes, demons, dragsters and much more.
