All right, so 2006’s nearly over and if you felt this was a good gaming year, I think you’d better brace yourselves (saving up would be a good idea too) for 2007 since we have a lot and I mean A LOT of stuff to look forward; in fact the sheer volume of games is so gigantic, we’ve had to compile four different lists (PC, Xbox360, PS3 and Assorted) so your brain doesn’t fry with all the information. In addition to this, we also have our very own GOTY feature soon so just kick back, relax and enjoy the ride… only at Tech2.com
In today’s feature, we’ll take a look at what PC gamers can expect next year…
Crysis
A spiritual successor of sorts to 2004’s jungle shooter Far Cry, Crysis will also take place on a tropical island; only difference is you’ll be protecting earth against an alien invasion instead of gunning down genetic freaks. Crysis will be one of the first DirectX 10 games to hit the market (but don’t worry, DirectX 9 cards will be able to run it as well) and will feature gorgeous and photo realistic visuals, courtesy of Crytek’s proprietary, CryENGINE 2.
Halo 2
PC gamers will finally get their hands on one of the most popular Xbox games till date next year when Halo 2 ships for PCs. The PC version will ship with the entire single player campaign as well a bonus Multiplayer pack and the ability to create your very own maps. The only catch? You’ll need Vista to indulge in Master Chief’s latest adventure.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
For those who’ve newly emerged from a bunker, Quake Wars is a spiritual successor (yes I know you have a lot of spiritual successors in this list) to the multiplayer oriented, Enemy Territory and just like it’s predecessor, it won’t offer any sort of single player campaign where players will choose to align with either the Humans or the invading Strogg. Oh! and just so you know; this game will not be free, unlike Enemy Territory.
Hellgate London
Hellgate London is a First Person/Third Person action RPG from the same talented bunch who worked on crowd favorites like Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft (in short, ex-Blizzard employees). In the game, London has been overrun by a demonic invasion and it’ll be upto you to liberate humanity from this horrific tyranny. Besides a healthy single player campaign, the game will also pack a multiplayer component that’ll focus on… a co-operative mode.

Jade Empire: Special Edition
After enjoying a healthy stay on the Xbox, Bioware’s RPG set in mythical China is all set to make its debut on PCs next year. The PC version titled Jade Empire: Special Edition will ship with the entire single player campaign in addition to better visuals, newer monsters, newer quests, a new world interface and an improved combat system.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has constantly been tottering between Vaporware and ‘When it’s done territory’, but now it seems we all can finally look forward to this game next year (hopefully). Unfortunately, the game will not be as open ended as we were lead to believe; it’s going to be more of a linear shooter with a ton of scripted events thrown in. Either way, I can’t wait to play this.

Spore
Like the Sims, but in space.
The Witcher
Based on Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel of the same name, The Witcher will put you into the boots of a super-soldier called the Witcher whose services are called upon to protect the land from supernatural elements like werewolves, the undead and so on. The game will offer players a variety of fighting styles to choose from and will not be a total click fest like Diablo or Titan Quest. For more on the game, kindly check out our preview right

Aion: Tower of Eternity
Angels and Demons have always been locked in an eternal war and with Aion: Tower of Eternity, gamers will finally be able to align themselves as one of two sides. However if either of the sides starts gaining control over each other, the game will introduce a third computer controlled fraction (Dragons) that’ll attack the winning side to mantain a balance of sorts. The game will also feature a mix between PvP (Player Vs Player) and PvE (Player Vs Environment) system, called PvPvE, which should make for some interesting gameplay.
Cellfactor Revolution
Initially showcased as a tech demo for AGEIA’s PhysX processor, Cellfactor: Revolution is all set to become a multiplayer only first person shooter that’ll allow players to “manipulate the environment around him, which includes thousands of fully interactive objects.” Think of it as Psi-ops on some massive steroids.
Don’t get too disappointed if you haven’t seen the titles you were looking forward too in this list; stay tuned for our look at Upcoming Xbox 360 games tomorrow.
