Unofficial CyanogenMod 13 and its custom recovery are now ready for download, even though the first lot of OnePlus 3 smartphones has yet to reach their respective owners. Even with the next day shipping option in during checkout, the smartphones will be reaching consumers on 16 June during the day. So it seems like a developer was in a rush as there is already an unofficial CyanogenMod 13 ROM along with a custom recovery ready for people to flash and test the CM goodness, rather than simply settling down for the stock OnePlus experience.

The ROM and Recovery are provided by a recognized developer on the OnePlus Forums as well as XDA. Known as Grarak, the developer thanked OnePlus for the device as well as the help he received from the engineers at OnePlus. This is part of the effort by OnePlus to make the latest flagship as developer friendly as possible, while putting out the device tree and kernel files on GitHub. The ROM has a few bugs to iron out that include worse battery life than the stock ROM, no support to F2FS and not so great support for the Snapdragon 820 because it is a fairly new processor.

According to several reports, the device comes with an unlocked bootloader. But regardless of whether the device comes locked or unlocked, OnePlus Care and the device warranty supports all kinds of developer activities. As reported by XDA, Paranoid developer also commented on the same post that Paranoid custom ROM for OnePlus 3 is coming really soon which made people lose their mind in excitement.
