Udacity launches VR Developer nanodegree course in India

In collaboration with Google VR, HTC Vive and Upload, US-based educational institution Udacity on Wednesday launched its virtual reality (VR) Developer Nanodegree course in India. The course can help students engage directly with the content and act upon both real and imaginary environments. “The course will provide exciting career opportunities in an expanding global industry, which is currently enjoying over 800 per cent year-over-year job growth. This is the course to master the latest technologies with experts from partner companies,” Shernaz Daver, chief marketing officer of Udacity International, said in a statement. Students with access to a high-immersion VR setup – such as the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift – can take advantage of an optional concentration track on “High Immersion VR”. They can learn skills like mobile phone-based VR and desktop VR, game engines, VR design and user interaction, VR platforms including HTC Vive, Google Cardboard, Daydream and Oculus Rift. “Our vision for the VR Nanodegree course is to bring the focus on learning-by-doing so the time will be spent building real experiences,” Vardhan Koshal, India head of Udacity, added.
