Ubisoft's The Division to hit stores in late 2014

One of the most praised games during this year’s E3 was Ubisoft’s open-world MMORPG The Division. The company has announced that there is still quite some time before the game hits stores. The Division is set to be launched in late 2014, according to Eurogamer .

The Division is a squad-based game where players can team up with a few friends and drop in and out of the game at any moment. Player versus player (PVP) combat is also a constant threat with new firefights erupting out of nowhere. “In certain areas, you can also seamlessly engage in PvP and experience suspenseful scenarios where danger can come from anywhere and anyone,” says the post on the game’s official blog .

Hitting stores late next year

The Division will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Ubisoft’s driving game, dubbed The Crew, is slated for an earlier release. The game will be hitting next-gen consoles in the first quarter of 2014. This puts the game’s release date in the January-to-April window.

The company’s other highly-anticipated game, Watch Dogs, is set to hit store shelves later this year for both current-gen as well as next-gen consoles. Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot has revealed in a recent investor call that the company is expecting to sell a bit over 6.2 million copies. This number, while seeming high, is based on the sales figures for last year’s Assassin’s Creed 3, which managed to move 6.2 million copies.

While the expected sales figure does seem a bit too high, it is worth noting that Watch Dogs will be available on five different platforms, including the next-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
