Ubisoft's The Division outsells Assassin's Creed at launch, breaks all of Ubisoft's previous sales records

If you’re a gamer, you’ve already heard of The Division , Ubisoft’s pseudo-tactical MMORPG. Well, Ubisoft recently announced that The Division is their fastest selling game to date, out-pacing the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry franchises in terms of launch day sales.

Exact sales figures haven’t been given out by the company, but they say that it’s their fastest selling game ever in a 24 hour period and that they’ve recorded record sales on other platforms as well. In a press release, Ubisoft indicated that they’ve produced 3 of the top 4 most successful game launches in gaming so far. These include The Division , Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed . Bungie’s Destiny is the only game on that list that’s not from Ubisoft’s stables.

Our open beta experience with The Division indicated a game that was teeming with potential and graphics to kill any GPU that you throw at it. Regardless of whether the game will be a success or not, it at least runs better on PC than the disaster that was Watch Dogs.

We’re going to reserve judgment till we spend more time with the game, but it certainly looks like Ubisoft has a winner on their hands.
