UberEats launched in Mumbai, here is how to get started

Uber has launched its food aggregator and delivery app **UberEats in India** . The new service by Uber is available in Mumbai and will gradually roll out to other cities in the country. The service will reach a total of six cities by the end of the year. That short list of cities includes Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Gurugram. The company announced its intent to enter Indian food delivery space **back in January** . It will run in India as a separate operation. The team behind UberEats will be different from the ridesharing app at both national and city levels. The company plans to execute the same by hiring city level managers for both operations, branding, and sales. Now it has a stand-alone app and is currently functional in 58 cities all across the world. You can visit Google Play Store or iOS App Store to install the app on your smartphone. One thing to note is that it will only work if you are in Mumbai. After installing the app, you need to log in using your Uber login credentials. Once you login in the app, UberEats prompts you to enter the ‘Delivery Address’ giving you options of your ‘Home’ and ‘Work’ addresses from the Uber database. The company also gives you the option to enter the time when you want it, the first option is ‘ASAP’ while the second option lets users ‘Schedule an Order’. ![UberEats](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/2017-05-02_150602.jpg) ![UberEats](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/2017-05-02_150648.jpg) After entering the address and delivery time, the company offers the home screen in a tabular interface offering all the restaurants that can deliver the food to your location. The app gives you the option to sort the list according to ‘Recommended’, ‘Most popular’, ‘Delivery time’, Price, and ‘Dietary’ options. ![UberEats](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/2017-05-02_150725.jpg) ![UberEats](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/2017-05-02_150752.jpg) The second tab allows you to search while the third tab shows you the ‘History’ of your past orders including ‘Upcoming’ orders that you have scheduled. The last tab shows you your UberEats profile where you can edit your profile in the settings menu, switch payment options, apply promo codes in the promotions tab, get free food by inviting friends just like Uber. The company also gives you the option to ‘Deliver with Uber’. ![UberEats](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/2017-05-02_150820.jpg) UberEats only allows order from one restaurant per order like other food deliver services like Swiggy and Scootsy. The app categorizes the food items in a single page without any tabular interface depending on the categories. A floating button on the lower right corner gives access to the list of categories of food items with a number indicating the number of food items in that category. Tapping on any of the category scrolls downs the page to the selected category. The interesting part about one of the sections in the list is that the app claims to deliver food under 30 minutes from the restaurants in the list provided. One thing to note here is that we have not tried ordering from the service at the time of writing so your experience may differ.
