Uber Compliments: A new way to appreciate drivers beyond the 5 star rating

Uber has announced the launch of a revamped system to compliment your drivers after the ride is done. Uber customers can leave a compliment to the driver on what aspect of the ride they liked which can be anything from skillful navigation to good music or even a lively conversation that brightens the mood. As soon as the customer gives a compliment, the driver gets a notification on their home screen notifying them of the compliment. The compliment is sent in the form of a badge which they can access later on a dedicated screen to check which aspects the users appreciate the most and which aspects they can improve to make the experience. This is an evolution of the existing system where you get to select the best aspects of the ride on the ratings page once when the ride is over. It is not clear if it will result in some financial tip or monetary tip to the drivers like Lyft but it would increase the incentive for the drivers rather than just the thrill of collecting more badges.
