Twitter has announced that it is beefing up its desktop search function to see better contextual results even as you type your query out. Now when you start to type a keyword or a name out on the search bar, the micro-blogging website will show you photos and accounts as well.
Previously, even as you started typing something out, Twitter’s search would show you accounts and search results pertaining to your query. The autocomplete search feature will now throw up results of people, pictures and social context. While it may not change your experience of the act of searching on the micro-blogging website, it will save you some precious moments searching for relevant results.
More socially relevant results
So now, when you keep your cursor idling on the search bar, Twitter will not only show you your recent searches, it will also show you saved searches under a separate heading. This search tweak also means being able to see more and more images within search results on the desktop version of Twitter. The website is now on par with the mobile search that already works on providing contextual results to users.
Twitter has also released an update for its application on Windows 8, bringing a ton of features for the platform. You will now be able to sign-in with multiple accounts on Twitter on Windows 8. The micro-blogging service now also has support for lists – yours as well as others. You can then go on to pin these lists on your Start screen. In addition to this, Twitter will also let you natively sign-up for the service using the application.
