Micro-blogging site Twitter has teamed up with local search and discovery service mobile app Foursquare to allow users to tag locations in their tweets. Twitter announced this news via a tweet and explained via a video how location tagging will work in iOS.
The company also tagged in its support site explained how exactly to add location to a tweet. It also gives detailed information on how to stop including location in tweets along with how to add location to tweets in its mobile website and on the web too. It also added that, users who turn their location on, all future tweets will automatically carry their co-ordinates. If users do not wish to share their location at all time, they will have to remember to go back and opt-out. Tweets with location tags could also help boost ads on the micro-blogging site and help new users better manage their timelines with relevant tweets.
