Twitter now finally lets you retweet or quote your very own tweets! The news was made official when the Twitter retweeted one of its own tweets making it clear that the feature now works. For now, tweets that you retweet will not look as fancy as it does on the twitter website via a desktop browser. Currently retweeted or quoted tweets on mobile will show up with a link as can be seen below. https://twitter.com/twitter/status/742749353689780224?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Our guess is that Twitter will push out a server side update to give users a richer preview of the previous tweet in the coming months. Earlier users would only retweet or quote tweets from others. The ability to retweet your own tweets certainly reduces the time it takes to copy and past older content from your own timeline. The new feature showed up shortly after the micro-blogging website invested $70 million in popular music streaming service SoundCloud, a move that may push Twitter’s stalled growth and engagement with its over 300 million users. According to a ReCode report, “Twitter has invested around $70 million in the music service, as part of a round that should end up in the $100 million-range.” Nearly two years ago, the micro-blogging site had planned to buy SoundCloud but since then, had gone silent on this.
