Twitter had released its music app , called #Music, back in April. And now the online networking platform has released its first update for the app, which is available for iOS devices. Users can get the newest version straight from Apple’s App Store .
The #Music app originally did not come with genre categorisation and Twitter has now addressed that issue with this update. Users can now surf through a plethora of genres, which include all the favourites like Alternative, Country, Dance, Electronic, Folk, Hip-Hop, Metal, Pop, R&B and Rock.
Users can find the genres under the Charts section, which has also been revamped. Charts will now feature five new categories, which include Superstars, Popular, Emerging, Unearthed and Hunted. The earlier version of the app only featured two charts, which were the Popular and Emerging charts.

Users can easily access these add-ons by tapping the pull-down menu at the top and tapping on Charts. Alternatively, users can swipe horizontally on the screen from the left. Twitter has also looked at the Rdio authentication works, which is now in-app. Users would have to launch Safari to authenticate Rdio in the earlier version. The platform has also addressed some other bugs that were found in the app. Users can either download the new app or check out the new features on the web version , which is coming soon.
The official blog post has Twitter saying that the update also fixes scenarios that could cause tracks to appear unavailable. While the iOS version of #Music app has been around for a while, there is still no news for a version for the Android platform. From the update, it looks like Twitter is keen on getting its iOS app up to speed in terms of features and stability before thinking of crossing over to any other mobile platform.
