During Twitter's Developer Conference - Flight 2015, Twitter’s Senior Director of Product Jeff Seibert announced plans for a redesigned and updated Twitter for Mac client. Twitter for Mac update did not get an exact roll-out date, but seems like Twitter will now be usable on the desktop.

According to The Next Web, optimized for OS X El Capitan, the new Twitter will accommodate group DMs, GIFs, and integrations with Mac’s Notification Center. Visually, the app offers in-line replies as well as a dark mode.

Twitter has also announced plans to roll out a new service that will allow users to create polls. With this move, Twitter is believed to be working at improving user engagement. The poll lets users ask a question with two choices as answers, and it will remain open for 24 hours.

In an official blogpost, Twitter writes, “Previously, we’ve offered a few ways to participate in polls — Tweeting questions and tracking replies, tallying hashtag votes, or asking followers to favorite or Retweet to vote. Now, you’ll be able to create your own two-choice poll right from the compose box and it will remain live for 24 hours. You can vote on any poll, and how you voted is not shared publicly.”

Twitter has said it will start rolling out the ability to create polls on iOS, Android, and desktop at twitter.com, and one will notice a new poll icon above in the compose box.
