 "Twitter finally updates apps to sync DMs across devices")
Power Twitter users who live off Direct Messages, today is your lucky day. The micro-blogging website is finally releasing an update on seven applications with DM sync and other improvements.
The surge of massive updates started with Mac and iOS devices and is slowly rolling out to mobile web, Android and TweetDeck. Anyone who has used Twitter on multiple platforms will know what a massive pain it can be to search for DMs or start a conversation off from where you left it. Now if you read a DM on the browser version of Twitter, it will automatically be marked read on your mobile and tablet devices, as well as on TweetDeck.
DM junkies, rejoice!
For Android, iPhone, iPad and Twitter on mobile web, the micro-blogging service is fitting in some search tweaks too. Searching for people will now show you an expanded result that shows you a full bio too. Swipe to the left and you will find similar accounts. There will also now be a new in-app indicator in search results that will show you when there are new tweets for your query. You will be notified as and when new tweets pop up for those, so you can stay up-to-date.
If you use Twitter on your iPhones, you will be able to reply to tweets faster with a built-in tweet composer that will be available when you tap to see details. Making this app consistent with its Android counterpart, you will be able to follow accounts by hitting the people button on the navigation bar. Once you hit it, you will see a list of accounts that could be relevant to you.
For Twitter users on Mac, the Connect tab now also includes interactions. You will be able to see favourites and retweets along with @mentions, quite like the web and mobile sites. You will also be able to update your preferences to view just @mentions. Additionally, the app will now support six additional languages – Danish, Filipino, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and Thai.
