Twitter, Facebook go Tendulkar-crazy after retirement announcement

For anyone who grew up in India in the 1990’s, there was no greater pleasure than to watch Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar bat with his trademark finesse and almost-textbook shots on the cricketing field. With his 200th Test match impending, the Little Master has finally announced that he’s hanging up his boots post the match

Of course, while not a lot of people saw this coming, Tendulkar’s retirement announcement has caused a deluge of tweets and posts on Facebook and Twitter within the hour of his announcement. Check out some of the initial reactions on the major social networks:
