Twitter adds photo galleries

A little while ago, Twitter launched its own photo sharing service where you can share pictures within tweets themselves. Adding to that, they’ve added a gallery which will allow you to see the last 100 pictures that any user has posted, in chronological order. Galleries will not only show pictures from Twitter’s image service, but also from supported services like yFrog, Twitpic and Instagram. Images that were included in tweets that you may have retweeted will show up in your image gallery, as well. Galleries will not display video or pictures tweeted before the 1st of January, 2010.

Twitter pages will have thumbnails of a user’s image gallery on their profile page. The images will appear in the right sidebar under their ‘follower’ and ‘following’ count. When you click ‘View All’, you’ll be taken to that user’s gallery in your current window. The gallery, however, doesn’t offer the same quality of services as other third party image services offer. For one, images aren’t as high quality or well organized, either.

Paddy does not, we repeat, definitely does NOT belong in the category of Mac-head (yeh right!). She does get excited by her iPhone and her iMac and her iPod Nano and her Macbook and Bali's iPad and her future iHouse (patent pending). Ok, so maybe her head is a little bit forbidden fruit shaped. She likes shooting video (iPhone 4 camera zindabad!) and editing montages (Final Cut Pro zindabad!), whether the scene calls for it or no. In her spare time, she's either kicking it on stage with KB the keyboard or kicking butt at Taekwondo.
