 "Toshiba May Drop Windows 7 Tablet, Chromebook plans")
Toshiba has a wide variety of products under their umbrella, which includes notebooks, netbooks and tablets. They had some plans to launch Windows 7-based tablets this year and had even showcased some Windows 7 tablets at CES earlier this year. Reports state that there might be a a change in plans and priorities as Toshiba might choose to scrap the plan altogether. Toshiba is also said to be going easy on the Chromebook plans, as well. The smartbooks launched through last year didn’t perform as per their expectations.
Toshiba has a tablet based on the new Google Android 3.0 platform coming very soon. The Thrive as they are calling it is based on NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 and will have a 1280x800 resolution and 10.1-inch screen. The tablet will be sold in 8 GB and 32 GB versions and might be on shelves sometime in the month of June. Toshiba hasn’t yet confirmed this news and there’s no telling if the Windows 7 tablets will see the light of day or will be delayed to a later date.
