Tis the season! Google puts up third Happy Holiday doodle

Google continued its holiday tradition with a christmas themed doodle greeting users on its search page. It wasthe third doodle in the Happy Holiday series of Google.

Departing from the usual interactive elements like games and music, Google went with something more old-school.

Today’s doodle shows an isolates house surrounded by snow. When users roll their cursors over the doodle, it features a message “‘Tis the season!” Besides, smoke can also be seen coming from the chimney against the backdrop of a starry night sky.

Christmas Day doodle saw a simple drawing of a cityscape featuring buildings festooned with lights, a car transporting a tree on its roof, a lit up Christmas tree and a snowman created out of light - with the message ‘Tis’ the season!’

Christmas eve saw a similar image of two children riding a horse-drawn sleigh through the snow. The message ‘Happy Holidays from Google’ popped up when the cursor was on the image.

Earlier this week, Google celebrated the Winter solstice, officially the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year, with a doodle depicting a scarf and glove being knit into the shape of the search engine’s logo.

Google also launched it’s wildly popular Santa Trackerthat allows users to follow St. Nick’s progress across the world.
