Tinder has officially introduced Tinder Plus, which will be a premium addition to the popular dating service app. Of course as with all premium features the Tinder Plus experience it will cost users money, but according to a report on TechCrunch
it’s all very random and based according to your gender and age. Before we delve into the pricing here’s a quick look at the two new features of the Tinder Plus experience. One is called Passport which as the name suggests will help you make global connections if you’ve run out of dates in your local area. According to
Tinder’s blog post which announced the new features
, “Passport lets you change your location to connect with people anywhere around the world.” The post goes on to note “It’s like teleporting to a different location. Search by city or drop a pin on the map and you can begin swiping, matching and chatting with Tinder users in a destination of your choice.” While the teleportation bit might be an exaggeration, its a good feature for those want to try meeting new people in a different city. Of course globe-trotting for dates as an idea does have a slight problem: You might find you can’t actually go on a date with someone you like in another city or country, and that’s not particularly great news. The Passport feature.[/caption] The other feature is “Rewind”, which lets you take back your last swipe. This is an excellent feature. If you’ve accidentally swiped left (the Tinder way of rejection) or are having second thoughts about the last profile, then Rewind will bring that person back for you. Tinder Plus also grants unlimited liking capability, although we’re not sure how a lot of people might react to that. As far as the pricing is concerned, it appears to be very random. A TechCrunch
report notes that it “costs anywhere between $9.99 and $19.99 in the United States, depending on the age of the user.” The report notes that, “Tinder Plus costs $19.99 for users older than 30, while it costs just $9.99 for folks who are younger than 30,” although for 30+ women its costing $14.99 a month. TechCrunch adds that in emerging countries Tinder plus will cost $2.99/month. In India, the option for the service appears to be Rs 183.44 per month for one for our colleagues. We’ll have to see what numbers pop-up for some of our other colleagues.
