Tinder has announced the introduction of ‘Smart Photos,’ a new algorithm based system to sort the photographs in your Tinder profile. This algorithm based sorting keeps track of each swipe response to your photos to ensure that best photos are on the top. According to the statement by Tinder, users noticed a 12 percent increase in matches during the test run of the algorithm.

The system continuously tests your images to determine the success of all the pictures uploaded. This helps the system keep the best photo on the top regardless newly added photos. The company will roll out an update which will give users the option to turn the ‘Smart Photos’ feature in the ‘Edit Profile’ section.

The entire algorithm is working on machine learning where the prediction engine for the best photo improves as more and more users swipe on the photos. Crowdsourcing the whole process of gathering data to make a neural network on the six photos uploaded in the Profile section. As the data increase, data research becomes more accurate and precise. This comes after the company launched Tinder Stacks for iMessage where users could swipe on photos to vote for the best photos out of a stack.
