Tinder India is collaborating with UK based co-operative Haiku creation app, HaikuJam to celebrate International Haiku Poetry Day, to bring people together and write Haiku. Themes for Haiku include swiping right, first dates, and finding love. April 17 is the International Haiku Poetry Day, and is celebrated to promote the Japanese style of condensed, evocative poetry, and to get more people to try their hand and writing Haiku. “HaikuJAM provides an amazing platform for users to creatively collaborate and create little masterpieces together. Tinder is thrilled to participate with this growing community bound together by shared love for words and writing. At Tinder, we have always worked towards facilitating meaningful connections by making it easier to meet new, like-minded people. Poetry is the language of love and this partnership is a great opportunity for us to bring together haiku lovers to express themselves in their own unique style.” says Taru Kapoor, Head of Tinder India. “Love is actually one of the most popular themes around which people collaborate in HaikuJAM,” says HaikuJAM’s 24-year old CEO, Dhrupad Karwa, “Tinder has ushered in a world where finding romance and connecting with like-minded people around us is easier and more fun than ever before, so naturally we are very excited about this initiative!” To participate in the event, download the HaikuJam app on iOS or Android. All entries can be viewed live in the page for the collaboration at haikujam.com/swiperight. The creations can be shared on Facebook or Twitter through the app itself, and social media shares use the hashtag #InternationalHaikuDay. There is also a contest for all the entries, where winners stand to win Tinder Merchandise. The best entries are going to be published in a book.
