This Piggy Bank is Alive!

I always had a problem saving money when I was a child, and that’s a trend that’s continued into the present. In fact, there were times where I actually broke into my piggy bank when I was a child because I needed money. Well, there just may be a solution to this problem, although I don’t know how long it’ll take to be implemented. I just saw this story on Ubergizmo about a virtual pet-like piggy bank. Created by Wang Chao, Maggie Kuo and Jordi Parra, it works quite simply. All you have to do is keep the piggy bank happy by inserting your credit card into it. Every time you do this, it deducts a little money from it and deposits it into another savings account. The catch here is that you don’t know how much its taking.

Watch it happily gobble up your money

This piggy bank even has an iPhone for a display, which tells you what ‘mood’ it is in. forget to feed it, and it’ll be all teary eyed. But if you keep it fed (read: insert you card) regularly, it’ll have heart shaped eyes and will be happy.

I really think that this is an interesting concept, and will work well if applied properly. There’s no saying if it will be launched and how much it’ll go for on the market.
