There are over 500,000 pornographic images posted on Twitter each day

Online Pornography is on the rise and pornographers are now using the micro-blogging platform Twitter to target children even if the internet filters are set in place, a report by The Daily Star has pointed out. Twitter had missed the high-level summit on how to tackle web porn, which was attended by Facebook and Google as well. The report adds that at least 500,000 porn images are posted on Twitter everyday. But the company has refused to do anything to protect children against it. Apparently, Twitter doesn’t seem to be taking this issue seriously. In the online report filed by  Huffington Post mentions that according to The Daily Star, campaigners have accused Twitter of “cynical, exploitative behaviour” and also accused it of being a coward by failing to act against the issue. An earlier **report** pointed out that Twitter CEO Dick Costolo had admitted that they suck at dealing with abuse and trolls. Costolo reportedly admits that the awful behavior of trolls is responsible for driving away users. However, he plans to change how Twitter deals with such users who are on Twitter just to violate and abuse others. The company has been struggling to slow growth of the user base. Taking complete responsibility at failing to curb such users, he said, “We’re going to start kicking these people off and making sure that when they issue their ridiculous attacks, nobody hears them.”
