The Witcher may not have garnered the popularity of a Mass Effect or a Fallout but it was one of the few good European RPGs out there. With a rabid fan base fueling sales, Polish developer CD Projekt finally announced The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings last September. And now we get word via their official press release that the game will be releasing worldwide by the 17th of May 2011.

And for all the collectors out there, here’s what the game’s special edition looks like:
- The Vernon Roche Commando Jacket
- Two Papercraft Figures + Bonus
- Cursed Coin and Pamphlet
- Making-of DVD
- Official Soundtrack
- World Map
- Art Book
- Geralt Sculpture
- Temerian Coin
- Dice Set
- 3 Stickers
- Playing Cards and Rulebook
In case you haven’t checked out the first game yet, I strongly suggest you do. It’s pretty cheap on Steam (Rs. 800) and is one of the more kickass mature RPGs out there.
